Outbound & Cold Outreach in Delft
Why here
An engineer at a large customer does not respond to a commercial email, and that is not a matter of better copy. He responds to something demonstrably about his work: a publication, a measurement, a problem he named himself. We build the sequence around that — a short list, and one hook per contact that actually holds. Volume is deliberately low; in this market a generic sentence is spotted instantly. The phone works differently here too: you are not calling a purchasing department behind a reception desk, but a team where whoever answers can address your question on the substance or redirect you at once. That calls for a different opening line. And because the network around the university and the campus incubators runs dry after some thirty conversations, this is usually the first channel that does not lean on introductions.
No list of offices — just honesty: we work remote-first and come on-site where it truly matters, by plane if that is what it takes. Travel costs are charged on.
Our approach
The definition leads: which type of organisation, which department, which role at the table, and which signal makes them relevant now. Then we build the short list and find a hook per contact from publications, patents or specialist sources. Next we write the opening message, two follow-ups and a call script. Meanwhile we set up the sending domain and check SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Frequently asked questions
-
All our existing customers came through the university network. Do we even need outbound?
At some point yes. A network delivers the first few dozen conversations and then dries up, and it also decides for itself when something arrives. Outbound adds a channel you can switch on yourself. We start small and measurable — one application, one type of organisation, one sequence — and only scale once conversations come out of it.

Is cold outreach to researchers not intrusive?
That depends entirely on the hook. A message referring to his own publication and asking a concrete question is rarely read as intrusive; a stock email about your solution is. So we keep the volume low and the hook solid, and make sure opting out takes one click. Anyone who does not reply is not approached endlessly.
What you invest depends on what we build. The homepage says where it starts.
