Sales in Delft
Delft produces technology and technologists. Around the university, Technopolis, Delftechpark and YES!Delft are full of spin-offs with demonstrably better technology and rarely a sales process. Dcraft Of Sales works on the part in between: moving from a proven prototype to a repeatable commercial track with paying customers.
No list of offices — just honesty: we work remote-first and come on-site where it truly matters, by plane if that is what it takes. Travel costs are charged on.
The market
Delft is a small city with an unusually dense technology economy. TU Delft has produced a steady stream of deeptech and life sciences spin-offs for years, and YES!Delft has guided hundreds of them. Physically that sits in three areas: Technopolis Innovation Park on campus, Delftechpark along the A13, and Schieoevers, where older manufacturing along the Schie canal is gradually being mixed with new activity. The customers of these companies are rarely in Delft — they are OEMs, hospitals, energy firms, semiconductor manufacturers and governments spread across Europe, the United States and Asia. Alongside that sits a solid layer of engineering and consulting firms selling on projects and secondment.
The sales reality here
The classic Delft sales problem: a founder who understands the technology to its core and therefore turns the conversation technical too early. On the other side sits not an engineer but a manager with a budget, a risk profile and an incumbent supplier who already does the job. On top of that, deeptech selling often opens with a free pilot that commits no one — a pleasant start that leads nowhere months later. We put structure on that: qualify before the pilot, agree the next step in advance for after the pilot, and open with the customer's problem rather than with the technology.

-
Sales Training & Coaching

Frequently asked questions
-
We are a TU Delft spin-off with technology but no sales team. Where do you start?
With the question of who exactly pays, and for what. In most spin-offs the technology is clear and the buyer is not: there are three possible applications and four kinds of customer, which makes the pipeline wide and thin. We pick one with you, build a repeatable conversation around it, and only scale once that conversation works — with people or with automation.
-
Our pilots rarely turn into contracts. Can you change that?
Usually yes, and the fix sits before the pilot rather than after it. We agree in advance what result the pilot has to deliver, who judges it, what budget is ready if it succeeds, and what the next step is. A pilot without those agreements is not a sales process but a free test setup — which is exactly what is happening now.
-
Our market is international, not local. Does a location-based approach even work?
We are not local either — Dcraft Of Sales works remote-first and comes on-site where it makes the difference. What is local about this approach is that we know the starting point: a technically strong company with an international market and a sales process still to be built. The process we build targets that international market from day one.
