Sales Training & Coaching in Ghent
Why here
In Ghent technology companies the conversations are usually full of substance and empty of direction. A researcher explaining his own work does it better than any salesperson, but he rarely asks who signs, which budget year applies and what the next meeting will be. Conversely, a commercial hire lacks exactly the depth that makes a development department take him seriously. We train those two movements towards each other. For the technical people the emphasis is on asking questions and on ending with a concrete next step, without slipping into sales language that costs them credibility. For the commercial people we build product knowledge to the level where they recognise an objection instead of forwarding it. Role-plays come from your own market: a conversation with a research department and one with a purchasing department are two entirely different exercises.
No list of offices — just honesty: we work remote-first and come on-site where it truly matters, by plane if that is what it takes. Travel costs are charged on.
Our approach
Real conversations go first, including the ones the founder runs himself, with a note on where the direction disappears. Usually it turns out nobody ever explicitly asks for a next step. That becomes the first training block, with exercises on your proposition and your price level. Between blocks your people apply it in real conversations and we review the recordings. At the end there is a playbook a new colleague can start from independently.
Frequently asked questions
-
Our founder is still our best salesperson. Can you coach him?
That is usually the most valuable part of the engagement. Not because he does it badly, but because he does it unconsciously, which makes it impossible to transfer. We listen in, name exactly what he does and turn it into questions somebody else can ask too. We also coach on letting go: which conversations he keeps and which he hands over from now on, with an agreement about when he stops stepping back in.
-
Our people do not want to 'sell'. Is training worth it then?
Especially then, because the resistance is usually to a style rather than to the work itself. What we train looks very little like pitching: asking questions until you understand what is going on, being honest when your solution does not fit, and agreeing at the end what the next step is. Technical people recognise that as something they already do, only now with a structure underneath and a result that lands in the pipeline.
