High-Ticket Closing in Mechelen
Why here
On this axis the big deal almost always looks the same: a multi-year supply or distribution agreement, with volume, delivery windows and a price revision clause. What makes it hard is not the size but the split decision. Part of it is taken locally, part at a parent company abroad, and the buyer at the table steers the conversation back to unit price because that is the only thing he is allowed to compare. We first map where each signature falls and who abroad still gets to advise on it. Then we move the conversation towards what actually carries value in a distribution chain: lead time, delivery reliability, stock arrangements and returns handling. And since Dutch and French run side by side at that table, we hold the conversation in the language the decision-maker thinks in.
No list of offices — just honesty: we work remote-first and come on-site where it truly matters, by plane if that is what it takes. Travel costs are charged on.
Our approach
Two or three live files worth this track get picked jointly; the rest goes back to the ordinary pipeline. For each one we map the decision unit: who signs locally, who advises from the group, who can block it. We then read into your margin, your delivery windows and the parties you are being compared with. After that we join the table, alone or beside your own account manager, and record every objection exactly as it was actually phrased.
Frequently asked questions
-
Who actually signs: our local management or head office?
You need to know that before you issue a proposal, and surprisingly often nobody knows precisely. In Benelux offices signing authority is usually tied to an amount or a contract term, above which approval comes from abroad and can take weeks. We ask the buyer directly and plan that internal step in as its own stage, so a file does not stall at the last moment with someone you have never spoken to.
-
The buyer wants to talk only about unit price. What do you do differently?
We do not accept that comparison as given, but we do not deny it either. The question we put is what happens when a delivery runs late, when a batch is rejected, or when volume doubles in a peak month. Those are numbers the buyer can work out himself, and once they are on the table the conversation shifts to total certainty rather than the price on one line.
