High-Ticket Closing in Rotterdam
Why here
A large contract in Rotterdam industry is not a sales conversation but an admission procedure. Before anything is signed, the buyer wants to know whether you deliver when things go wrong: which safety requirements you demonstrably meet, which certifications are current, what happens if a turnaround overruns, and whether you have already delivered inside the same chain. That last question weighs more than brand recognition here, and the answer often decides whether you get past the first meeting. We take control of that track. We map who has a say — procurement, the technical department, the safety officer, sometimes an asset manager who is not in the room but holds a veto — and make sure each of them gets the document they need in time. Negotiation is about terms, lead time and availability, not about discount.
No list of offices — just honesty: we work remote-first and come on-site where it truly matters, by plane if that is what it takes. Travel costs are charged on.
Our approach
Right after the go-ahead we assemble the file you need in this kind of deal anyway: certificates with their expiry dates, references inside the same chain you are allowed to name, and the lead-time commitments you can actually meet. Without those you run into trouble at the second meeting. Then we draw out the decision path and agree where the negotiating room sits. We run the first conversation together, so your own people pick up the pattern.
Frequently asked questions
-
The buyer asks for a reference inside the same chain and we do not have one yet. Then what?
Then you sell on adjacent evidence rather than pretending you have it. A comparable operation in another heavy environment, a customer with the same safety requirements, a pilot run you offer at your own risk: those are the things a technical buyer accepts. What does not work is naming a client you are not cleared to name, or stretching a case study. In this chain people call one another, and one unsupportable claim ends the deal for good.
-
Do you negotiate the terms in a framework contract as well, or only the price?
Mainly the terms, because in this kind of contract that is where the real value sits. Think of call-off volumes, response times on breakdowns, indexation, duration and the termination clause. A rate that looks sharp on paper can still turn out badly through a response obligation you cannot meet. We establish with you up front which terms you can carry, and we hold that line at the table.
